From One Cowboy To Another: Dez Bryant Finds His Perfect Home in the NFL

April 23rd, 2010 by Evan Higgins Leave a reply »

Dez Bryant has been through a rough couple of months.

He has been labeled as a "diva" after a rough past year, including getting suspended for his senior season at Oklahoma State after showing so mush promise coming into the season.

Hands down, Bryant has the talent to be a top-10 pick. He's got great height, speed, hands, and runs great routes. But many NFL teams were hesitant to take him, due to the suspension and questions about his work ethic.

The Denver Broncos were the team expected to select him, even after they traded down.

They ended up selecting another receiver, Demaryius Thomas out of Georgia Tech. After that, people new Bryant was about to free fall.

After trading down many times, the New England Patriots were on the clock. Expected to take Bryant, they let the clock roll down.

Then we saw that there was a trade, and the Dallas Cowboys were on the clock.

Jerry Jones new his team had to make some sort of splash this offseason, as they have to been so close to a Super Bowl in recent years.

Right after that trade, Bryant was shown on the screen with his family in tears. He was selected by a winning franchise and home-town team. Bryant and his family couldn't be any happier.

Bryant fits right in with Dallas Cowboys' love for playmakers. He will add depth to a receiving core that already has Pro Bowl receiver Miles Austin, Roy Williams, Patrick Crayton, and Jason Witten.

I'm very excited for Bryant and the Cowboys, as they new they couldn't let another star receiver slip like they did with Randy Moss many years ago.
