Los Angeles Lakers vs. Everyone Else
July 29th, 2010
There is the Los Angeles Lakers, and then there is everyone else. The Miami Heat have gotten considerably stronger in a short period of time, but they haven't played a single minute together on the court.
Orlando will always be tough as long as they have Dwight Howard, but sometimes they have too much three-point fever.
Boston is definitely a threat, but can they go through a season without age and injury going against them?
The Western Conference has gotten weaker and in the upcoming season, there seems to be no true threat from blocking LA's path to a fourth straight NBA finals appearance.
I will compare the positional matchups between the Lakers and the rest of the contending teams.
The Gutter to the Penthouse: Teams That Should Mimic the Blackhawks
June 3rd, 2010
Sports and movies are often said to be linked with many of the same qualities. They are full of drama, suspense, humor, and sometimes horror.
They also share a quality that is common for the audiences or fans that are watching them. People always love to see a "Cinderella Story" or in sports a "Worst to First" outcome.
It isn't usually the ending that people like to embrace the most; as the journey in these films, and in sports teams seems to be the most enjoyable for those who pay to see it.
The Chicago Blackhawks more any other team in this short-lived century have shown that with the right attitude and mix of organizational people and on-ice/field/court talent, that anything can be achieved in a short period of time.
With their possible and most likely probable upcoming Stanley Cup Title. it has brought many people to think about the miserable times the franchise had gone through, and how quickly they have circumvented a renassaince.
This has led to the possibility for other franchises to look at the blueprint that the Blackhawks have laid out, and try to "right the ship" and bring piece and prosperity to their fans.
NHL: Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, Top 10 Flashes in the Pan
March 26th, 2010
Over the years, we have witnessed players come into the NHL and perform remarkably, only to disappear a short time later. I have often wondered how somebody could score 30 goals in the NHL, yet not stick around long enough to get their name stiched on the back of their jersey.
It makes you think, who could be the next player that will succomb to such a fate.
From the Toronto Maple Leafs Nikolai Borschevsky to the Washington Capitals Jim Carey, yes there has been a few that have impressed the fans for a short period of time, and become flashes in the pan.
That being said, here is my picks for the best or worst of them. Players that lasted about as long as Britney Spears and K-Fed's marriage.

March 23rd, 2010
What comes to mind when you think of Cinderella's?
It should be the Davidson's and George Mason's of the world. The upsets, game winning shots, and of course, Gus Johnson.
Almost every NCAA tournament has at least one Cinderella. One team that dazzles us and captures our hearts. For a short period of time, we go out of our way to root for this team that just a few weeks ago, we had probably never heard of.
In this years NCAA tournament, we have four remaining Cinderella's. These are four teams who are working day and night to ensure that the slipper will fit.
The questions you have are simple. Who are they? Where did they come from? Can they keep winning, or are they pretenders?
